Job Description
The Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership is continuously developing the pipeline for its growing enterprise portfolio and is currently assessing opportunities to expand in Haiti. As such, a Haiti based Operations Manager is required to further advance current efforts and spearhead the growth of the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership’s footprint in Haiti.
In Haiti, the Enterprise Partnership has facilitated a $1.25M investment in a supply chain impact enterprise startup, Acceso Peanut Enterprise Corporation (APEC). APEC is a peanut supply chain enterprise that provides capacity building and inputs to significantly improve peanut yield and quality, and also purchases peanuts from smallholder farmers at favorable, fixed prices, and sorts, tests and re-sells directly to large buyers and the general market. With its current investment, APEC’s business model will train and support approximately 5,000 growers over five years via a network of 35 depots in the Centre, North and Northeast departments.

Job Responsibility
The operations manager is responsible for all APEC’s field activities, including field manager, depot manager and nursery oversight, performance and reporting, as well as all grower recruitment, training and reporting.

- Oversee and manage all field manager, depot manager, nursery manager and other field personnel activities from farmer recruitment to delivery of product to buyers;
- Manage weekly field team work plan and monthly activity calendar;
- Prepare monthly financial and inventory reports by depot;
- Provide informed program recommendations and monthly reports on progress, issues, and areas for improvement;
- Provide monthly reports on field staff performance;
- Oversee development and deployment of APEC trainings and coordinate directly with other extension partners;
- Ensure depot organization, cleanliness and security protocol is followed;
- Approve all field staff payroll, advances and reimbursements;
- Coordinate and oversee all shipments to buyers in collaboration with APEC sales manager;
- Oversee APEC field offices, vehicles and equipment;
- Motivate field team to achieve or surpass performance targets;
- Research and recommend new depot locations based on grower concentrations, cost-effectiveness and overall willingness of farmers to participate;
- Manage and troubleshoot field team use of technology, including FarmForce platform, quality testing, mobile money and weather stations;
- Recruit and recommend new hires for depot manager positions;
- Other special projects or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or major course work in agriculture, finance or economics, or a related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred);
- Three (3) years minimum experience managing teams in agribusiness, business or related fields in Haiti or other developing economies;
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and business sense;
- Advanced user of MS Office Suite applications (experience with FarmForce a strong plus);
- Oral and written fluency in Haitian Creole and English (fluency in French a strong plus)
